    Profile

    Yeasin has been working for Fitness First since 2010. Originally from Bangladesh, he has always been active in various sports including swimming competitions. Now swimming is a regular part of life for Yeasin because being involved in swimming helps one achieve both physical and mental/emotional balance. Swimming as a sport also develops flexibility, co-ordination and improves strength. He particularly likes to teach beginners and improvers to develop their swimming technique. His aim is to use simple building blocks to make fast, easy learning. He is looking forward to seeing you in the pool!

    Profile

    Balala has worked various roles in the fitness industry including football and swimming.  He is currently ranked as Kenya’s Top Triathlete for the past 7 years.  He has competed in 2011 All African Games and 2014 Commonwealth Games.   In 2014 he came 2nd in the All Africa Pan Arabian Championship in Egypt.

    His objective with the Swim Academy is to develop our young swimmers, identify talent and create and inspire them to become great athletes.

    Profile

    Since 2009 he has been a Senior Lifeguard with Fitness First and to develop his knowledge of the industry he completed his Swimming Teachers Course in 2011 and has continued to do development courses. He has been teaching all ages and abilities for the past 5+ years and enjoys sharing knowledge to people and helping them to progress their ability and achieve their goal. He is very happy to see swimmers learn and develop in the water!

    Manny Reyes is from Philippines and has been teaching swimming for 10 years.  He loves teaching and will always give his best to his swimmers to progress and achieve their goals.

    Jeannina joined Fitness First July 2016 as a Lifeguard and later decided to qualify to teach swimming classes to both children and adults. She is eager to motivate other people to build their confidence and skills in water.  As a Swimming Instructor she believes that helping her clients swim will boost their confidence which also creases an improvement in lifestyle.     Profile

    Carrie is a licensed teacher since 2006 in the Philippines and taught for 2 years at a Secondary School in her City.

    When she moved to Dubai she was involved in establishing the swim program in Filipino group of runners and triathletes called Filipino Runners United (FRU), and worked with the group for 3 years.

    Carrie loves being around water and she has a passion for teaching all ages and her aim is to maximize progress from each and every lesson. She feels very privileged to develop her swimmers and see them improve and grow in confidence.

    Carrie left her corporate job to pursue her passion for swimming and teaching. In September 2018 she joined the Fitness First Swim Academy as a Swim Instructor.

    Anastasiya's education is a Masters in Coaching and Teaching Swimming 2012 – 2016 at the Department of Water sports, Uzbek National Institute of Sports and Physical Culture

    She has previously worked in 2016 – 2017 as a Swimming Coach at the Olympic Reserve Water Sports School, Uzbekistan and previous to that in 2014 – 2016 she was a Swimming Coach for Chekhov Sport Clubs, Uzbekistan.

    Anastasiya is a believer in the development of an athlete through a gradual and continuous process, which must coincide along with the simultaneous cognitive and behavioral development of ones’ character. This process requires both discipline and sacrifices to reach and achieve ones’ goals. Her tenure is that of a member of the National Water Polo Team of Uzbekistan. Her experience as an athlete in international events, has given her an understanding of how effectively to manage relationships with others, adapt to different environments and situations and take a lead in motivating others to achieve a common goal.

    Playing water polo at an International Level has allowed her to develop strategies which she implements when designing the training programs for all levels of swimmers. Her awareness and understanding of the technical aspects of swimming, has led her to work with all levels from baby swim programs to squads.

    Anastasiya, through her work has also developed a skill set to design and run programs aimed at rehabilitation from injuries and medical operations. These programs focus on strengthening the functionality of the body.

    Erick has had a love for swimming since he worked in a hotel as a lifeguard back in 2002. He chose to pursue his career in Dubai when he joined Fitness First as a lifeguard in 2013. To enable him to utilize his skills and to share his love for water with others he attended the STA (Swimming Teacher’s Association) Swimming Teacher’s Award and has continued to do development courses. His aim is to develop the skills of his swimmers no matter their age or ability! As the saying goes “If you have a goal and you have motivation you will achieve your goal”....

    Andrea is a Senior full time lifeguard at Fitness First, Bawabat Al Sharq Mall. She has been a volunteer swimming instructor at Philippine National Red Cross every summer whilst completing her degree. She has also worked as a swimming instructor giving private swimming lessons. Andrea joined Fitness First as a Swim Instructor in 2016.

    Kyle started swimming teaching & coaching at the age of 16. He joined Milo Sports Clinic in Philippines in 2011 to 2014 during summer time and likes to share his way and techniques in swimming with his students.  He was a varsity player in his university and also competed in his category which is 200-meter Breast Stroke and 200-meter Freestyle. He finished college with an Engineering degree, but still pursued his passion to teach swimming. He joined Fitness First Swim Academy in September 2018, and continues what he loves to do.

    Profile

    Exon was a professional swimmer in the Philippines from year 1992 to 2002 and he competed in national swimming competitions three times and won the gold Medal in Individual Medley.

    He also won gold medals in Front Crawl and Butterfly in regional major swimming competitions and participated in sprint triathlon back in the Philippines.

    He worked as a Swimming Instructor in the Philippines from year 2000 to 2011 when he moved to Dubai.  Initially he worked at an aquatic facility with waterpark, beach, and water sports facilities as a senior open water lifeguard. During this time he worked on developing his teaching skills and qualifications to enable him to follow his passion.

    He joined a Health Club of a five star hotel from 2015 to 2018 as a full time Swim Instructor, before joining Fitness First Mudon as a full time Swimming Instructor in November 2018.

    He established his passion for swimming when he was four years old and it has continue to grow and now he is lucky enough to establish his career in the sport he loves.

    Natalie is from Sri Lanka. Prior to coming to Dubai, she worked in Oman for over a year as a Master Water Safety Instructor in Aqua Tots Swim School. She gained experience in teaching SNAP kids (Special Needs Aquatic Program). Seeing them enjoying the lesson and progressing is one of the happiest things she has achieved as a swim instructor.

    She came to Dubai to join Fitness First in 2018. She has been teaching swimming for 4 years and she enjoys transferring her knowledge to the little ones the most. Natalie’s main concern as instructor is the safety of her swimmers in the water, as well as giving them a lesson of understanding the skills.

    She is very energetic and likes to create a fun environment in the lesson. Her positive attitude motivates swimmers to progress and reach their goals.

  • Lisa Hancox

    In 2000 she graduated with a degree in Sports Studies with Business – incorporating units including health and fitness, coaching principles, and psychology of sport.

    Lisa has been involved in the leisure industry and teaching for over 20 years. She began working in a pool as a lifeguard and coaching alongside her own Swim Coach. Following this Lisa taught swimming in California, Greece, and co-ordinated programs in the UK, Muscat and finally moved to Dubai in August 2005. During this time she taught swimming in hotels and health clubs, she ran her own company for 6 years and has joined Fitness First in October 2013 to develop The Swim Academy. 

    Having grown up in Hong Kong Lisa learnt to swim competitively at a young age, on returning to the UK she swam competitively to county level.

    Lisa loves to help others to develop their understanding of the water no matter what their age or ability. Some Swimmers should learn to relax and understand the water first- it's a great environment to exercise in once a swimmer develops an understanding of the water. Swimming is also a whole body workout developing and toning all areas of the body. She also enjoys working with more advanced swimmers to develop their strokes and technique further.

    In 2015 Cindy joined the Swim Academy as a swim instructor. Cindy is a positive person and this is important when she is teaching swimming, it helps her to motivate her swimmers and provide encouragement and assurance to maximise development. Cindy is a good communicator with all levels of skills and ability which she believes is a key factor to her successful teaching. Swimming is her passion!

    Cindy is interested in exploring the Philippine Island. She also would like to continue her reach-out- program for the kids that had already started. Her long term goal is to have a small teaching school for swimming in our in the Philippines

    Azzurra has been teaching since 2006 when she was introduced by her swimming coach to the activities of the Children’s Summer Camp. She has taught beginners, intermediate, advanced and adult level. When she was young she participated in various competitive events with promising results.In November 2014 she moved to Dubai. She started her career with a sports club as a supervisor of all organisational activities providing adult and children with swimming courses, then as a free-lance Swimming instructor. She joined Fitness first in June 2015 as a full time Swimming instructor.Her goal is to increase the awareness of the therapeutic impact of swimming and fitness regimes in today’s technologically driven stress work culture which also establishes a quality bonding time for the family.
