Used on the wrist or forearm, the MZ-Switch uses an optical blood flow sensor. This shines a light into your skin using LEDs that measure the volumetric variation of your blood flow to predict your heart rate. . When worn on your chest, the black sensors on the strap read your heart rate via electrocardiogram, or ECG, which traces the electrical activity of the heartbeat.
To maintain your status ranking and keep your workout history on the same account, you will just need to edit your belt ID on the Myzone app. Go to: Settings > My Profile > Belt ID.
Wrist: Slide your hand through the loop and pull the strap to tighten against your skin. The module should be positioned two fingers above your wrist bone.
Forearm: Slide your hand through the loop and position it just beneath the elbow with the module facing out.
Chest: Place the strap around your body. Snap the module onto the strap and position the module on your sternum with direct skin contact. Wet the black pads for better heart rate conductivity.
Whatever location you choose, always ensure the MZ-Switch is comfortably snug against you.
Wrist: Use for non-gripping activity and repeatable movements, including swimming.
Forearm: Use for improved accuracy during non-gripping activity and repeatable movements, except swimming.
Chest: Use for the most accurate readings during all types of exercises, except swimming.
Press and hold the button on the module until you hear one beep and see the green LED to signify the module has turned on and is reading your heart rate. After completing a workout, press and hold the button again until you hear three beeps which signify the module has turned off.
Please note, only press the button on and off when MZ-Switch is on your wrist or forearm.
To activate on the chest, moisten the black sensors on the back of the chest strap and tighten appropriately around your chest. Listen for the single beep to indicate that the MZ-Switch is reading your heart rate. The power button will not work in this location--it will only activate when the ECG sensors pick up your heart rate. After your session, remove the MZ-Switch from your chest. You will hear 3 beeps when the module has turned off.
No – don’t forget! Make sure to listen for the three beeps to signal your module has turned off after your workout. If your battery does run out, it’s a quick charge before you’re back in the game with three to six months of battery life again. In addition, the Switch can store up to 30 hours of exercise data.
The light on the front of your Switch module lets you know what zone you are in as you work out. This flashes when used on your wrist or forearm. When worn on the chest, the light remains off to preserve battery life.
To extend battery life, you can set your module to flash your zone only when you raise your wrist. To enable this feature, go to Settings> Preferences> Toggle Hand-Up Display on.
Snap the USB charging cable to the back of your MZ-Switch. A light will pulse red to indicate charging. Once fully charged, the light will turn solid green. Use a 5-volt adapter; do not use a 9-volt adapter as it will damage the module.

Your MZ-Switch battery will last 4-6 months depending on use, care, and location. When worn on the wrist or arm, up to 40 hours of battery life, and when exclusively worn on the chest, up to 140 hours of battery life.
You will receive a pop-up notification in the app when you dip below 20%. You can always check your charge level on the Workout screen. No need to connect your belt--the app memorizes the charge level from the last time your belt was synced up.
Yes, when you are not streaming live to your app or in-club display, you can store up to 36 hours of exercise data. You can upload stored data through the Myzone app or in-club display. Your belt must be activated for the app to pull your workout from the module to your account.
The straps are washing machine-safe on the gentle cycle in cold water. To improve longevity, hand wash. Always air-dry--do not place in the dryer. We recommend replacing your straps after sustained periods of regular use.
Yes, the MZ-Switch is waterproof up to 10 meters and is the first Myzone product to track your MEPs while swimming! Wear the MZ-Switch on the wrist during swimming, surfing, paddleboarding, or water aerobics.
The MZ-Switch was designed without an analog chip in so that you can benefit from features such as 36 hours of internal memory, dual-Bluetooth, and a smaller module size. Analog was also removed to eliminate "cross-talk".
For example, if you’re wearing your belt and walk by someone who was on a machine, your belt might be picked up during their workout. More and more machines are being created without analog in favor of Bluetooth and ANT+ for this reason.
Yes, in fact, because of the dual-channel Bluetooth, you can now sync up to both your Myzone app and your watch, Peloton, or other Bluetooth devices with no problems.
No, there is no pause option. The on/off button applies exclusively to the wrist and forearm. This is activated when you press and hold the module. The chest option turns on when the module detects your HR via the ECG sensors on the strap; the power button does not work for chest use.
Yes, you can switch from arm to chest and receive 1 cohesive graph as long as there is not a 10-minute break between activities.
Yes, please place it on your wrist or arm. Medical devices may interfere with the chest strap. Always consult a medical professional before starting a fitness regime.
We always say that, for the most accurate heart rate measurements, use the chest strap for ECG readings. The wrist and arm results are measured via PPG technology, rather than ECG. PPG estimates your heart rate based on your pulse, while ECG traces the electrical pathway of your heart. PPG is approximately 95% accurate, whereas ECG is over 99% accurate.
